A kayak trip to Zakynthos is far more than a journey to a place with a strikingly bright blue sea, remarkable beaches (Navagio the most famous of them), astonishing sea caves and limestone arches. Zakynthos is the place that will enchant you and light a lasting passion for sea-kayak adventure. It is the third largest of the Ionian islands, lying off the western coast of the Peloponnese, and one of the most spectacular and world-renowned of the Greek islands. Beyond its extraordinary nature, Zakynthos is known as the home of the Caretta caretta turtles, which lay their eggs in the bay of Laganas.
You do not need to cross an ocean to find the beauty of the tropics. Come with us to neighbouring Greece, and give yourself an active holiday exploring the island's beauty by sea and on land.

Tour Itinerary
A very early start from Sofia towards the port of Kyllini, where we take the ferry to Zakynthos. Once across, we head for our campsite - a transfer of 30 to 40 minutes - to settle in right on the shore, with a pool and a cocktail bar.
The evening is free time to rest.
The group gathers for a briefing and safety instruction. Kayaks are assigned and our experienced guides take you through the technique. The whole day is given to the boats, moving from beach to beach.
The evening is free. The nearby village has countless tavernas offering local specialities - and the bars along the shore are the stuff of legend.
A briefing for the day ahead. Today we finish in the early afternoon, leaving time for a walk along the shore - or a rest by the pool, for anyone who prefers. In the afternoon we arrange a visit to the island's capital and the turtle centre.
We load the kayaks onto the trailer for the next day. The evening is again given over to Greek food and cold drinks in the sea breeze.
An early rise, breakfast and coffee, and we set out for the sea caves and their extraordinary blue water. After two days of paddling we are confident you are ready for this magical place. Besides the paddling, the boldest among you will have the chance to snorkel inside the caves. By kayak we will reach remarkable wild beaches ringed by limestone cliffs.
Once off the water we head for ice cream and beautiful views from above - the sunset, and the outlook over Navagio.
Today we start early, to get ahead of all the motorboat tourists. The bay of Laganas on Zakynthos, also known as Turtle Bay, was made a National Marine Park in 1999. Alongside the turtles it is home to dolphins, monk seals and many species of waterbird. The island lies just 4 km offshore. With an extraordinary sand spit where the turtles nest, and rock faces riddled with sea caves, it is a small paradise. We will of course make a full circuit of the islet before returning to our starting point. There will be time for a short walk on the shore, or a swim with snorkels.
